Explore: Karekare Beach

Late last year (2016 seems so close!) Amy, Daniel, and I went for some exploring out west. With cameras in hand, we parked here, and walked along to the great unknown (sort of).

Karekare Beach is located 50 minutes away from the city centre which will lead you into the Waitakere Ranges. It was borderline spring/summer when we went - so we were covered up in boots and jeans, but really, being under the NZ sun for that long - we wish we brought our togs.

Nonetheless, we pushed forward and found ourselves in a desert?! Low tide was upon us. Super fun walking through so much sand and searching for the water. It wasn't long before we spotted it though.

As always, the wedding photographer in me couldn't help but take a few shots of these two wonderful people. Playing around with backlight never hurt anybody.

If only I was brave enough to jump into the water!

I really love seeing love and friendship between two human beings. If you can find someone you can be yourself with + do weird and wacky things with, why not keep them in your life?

Should have brought togs. Super sunny day, but hey, we were in jeans.

So, whenever you get a spare afternoon, drive out west to Karekare Beach. Go for a swim. Lay on the sand.

More from this adventure next week! x
